Some brilliant guy in Tucson invented a better tool for dimpling aluminum. The DRDT-2 (“Deep Reach Dimpling Tool”) seems to be all the rage in the homebuilt world, so of course I had to have one too. It is drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer, which happens to be about a hundred miles south of me, so it was the first build tool to show up. It’s a quick setup, it’s just a few parts to assemble. Once I get dies, I’ll get it aligned and try it out. I really don’t know what I’m doing yet, even if I sound like I do.
